Iceland

It is Iceland at Virtual Paintout, for the month of November.  I am just in time for the deadline. November is when I write poem a day ; poetry and writing at large swallowed my creative time everyday.

 I did the background work of choosing the location, deciding on the medium to work, a day in advance. I even made a few quick sketches to familiarise myself with the subject. I have used soft pastels on tinted paper. I have rubbed the colours with my fingers to get the tonal values. I did not fill the page because I wanted the purple tint of the paper to add its value to the painting. Since working on fine details is challenging with soft pastels, I have been expressive in my style of painting.
